WHOLESALE & EXPORT

Your buyer is not browsing.

They want to know whether you can put five hundred units of one colour and one capacity on a pallet this week, what the manufacturer code is, and what it lands at in their port. Everything else on your website is decoration.

This is why the codes have to be right.

One line from a catalogue we built. Four colours, four capacities, sixteen combinations, and every one of them is a different part number because that code goes on the buyer's customs paperwork.

Live on the client's catalogue at ysonlineltd.com. Every code was read off the manufacturer's own listing, one at a time.

Look at the two highlighted cells. Black at 1TB is MJRY4QN/A. Silver at 1TB, the very next colour, is MJT04QN/A. There is no pattern to continue. Anyone filling a catalogue by guessing the next code in the sequence will be wrong, and your buyer finds out when their shipment is sitting at a dock. That is the level of care a trade site needs and almost never gets.

Then the harder problem: keeping it true.

This client's range shifts every week as lines land and sell out. Any site needing a developer to update it would have been wrong within a fortnight. So we built one catalogue and let everything else be produced from it.

One catalogue 25 lines across 5 categories and 8 brands, edited by the client in a private system that never faces the public.
A 46 page website Product, brand, category and market pages, plus search, rebuilt and republished automatically through working hours.
The PDF buyers always ask for A wholesale catalogue with the part number grids, redrawn from the same data on every publish and emailed in under two seconds.
A lead trail in three places Every enquiry is written to the server, emailed to the office and copied into a sheet the client owns. No single service can take it down.

No basket, because nobody pays for a pallet by card.

A quote request carrying the exact models, quantities and destination, so the first reply can be a price
An enquiry list in place of a checkout. The buyer collects the exact models and quantities, sends one request, and the first reply from the office is a real figure with freight in it rather than three questions.
The wholesale PDF catalogue, generated from the same data and sent while the buyer is still on the page
Buyers forward the PDF internally before they ever reply to you. So it leaves while they are still on the page.

Common questions

Should a wholesale website show prices?
Usually not. In wholesale and export the price moves with quantity, destination and the day's stock position, so a published price is either wrong or the highest one you could charge. A quote request carrying the models, quantities and destination port lets your first reply be an actual figure rather than three questions.
Why do manufacturer part numbers matter so much on a trade site?
Because the code goes on the buyer's customs paperwork. The wrong one means a shipment held at a dock. The codes also cannot be worked out from a pattern: on one Apple line we carry, black at 1TB is MJRY4QN/A while silver at 1TB is MJT04QN/A. Every code has to be read off the manufacturer's own listing, one at a time.
How do you keep a large catalogue current without a developer?
Keep one source of truth and generate everything else from it. The client edits stock in a private content system, and the website, the search, the category pages and the downloadable PDF catalogue all rebuild from that same data. Nothing is typed twice, so nothing can fall out of step.
Do wholesale buyers want a shopping basket?
Rarely. Very few trade buyers pay by card for a pallet. An enquiry list works better: the buyer collects the exact models and quantities they want, sends one request, and you reply with a real price including freight.
